About Mater Education Limited
Mater Education Centre (MEC) is the on-site learning hub for Mater Health Services. MEC was established in February 1998 to provide and support the ongoing education, training and professional development needs of the Mater Health Services staff.
Acknowledged as the national benchmark in the provision of education, training and learning services to health care professionals, MEC is the only hospital based education facility of its kind in Queensland and has been a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 1999.
In 2011, Mater Health Services established Mater Education Limited (MEL) to develop the RTO’s principle purpose of providing education and ensuring the continuance of a strong and consistent governance for the future.
